Community Sustainability Event - Weston Beach
24 April 2023 11:00 – 15:00
Join us for a day of community action on the beautiful Weston beach!
On April 24th from 11am-3pm, we'll be hosting a beach clean event to help keep our shoreline pristine and protect our environment. This event is very kindly funded by Weston and Burnham Energy.
We're excited to have several groups of learners from Weston College and University Centre Weston joining us to support the community by cleaning the beach. It's going to be a great opportunity to work together and make a positive impact on our local environment.
But that's not all! We'll also have several stands set up in the Tropicana, where students and the public can learn more about sustainability. Our partners from North Somerset Council's Waste and Recycling team will be there, along with their Energy team, to share their knowledge and tips on how we can reduce waste and save energy.
There will also be a fun litter-picking game for kids and adults alike, and a demo on "60 things to reuse plastic for" to help us think creatively about reducing plastic waste.
For those who are interested in learning more about growing their own food, we'll have a stand on that as well!
And of course, we can't forget about the beach clean itself! We'll provide all the necessary equipment, including gloves and bags, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and willingness to help out. We'll work together to pick up litter, clean the beach, and make a difference.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the community, and make a positive impact on our environment.
There is no need to sign up, just join us at the Tropicana, on Monday the 24th April, at the Tropicana.
