These one-day workshops will be running during the 2025 February Half Term, 9.30 am- 3 pm
Workshops provide a great opportunity for students in years 9, 10 & 11 to see the amazing facilities at Weston College, meet our expert staff, and find out more about the subjects on offer
Have you already applied for a course? No problem! There's no harm in exploring another subject while you consider your options. If you haven't applied yet, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience several courses over six dates, with the option to apply on the same day!

Join us on Monday, 17th February' for a hands-on day of activities designed to give you an exclusive insight into the construction industry. You’ll explore the essential skills needed for success, meet our expert team, and experience what life at college is like—it’s nothing like school (trust us, it’s better!).

- 'Create a Decorative Victorian Plaster Mould': Discover the artistry behind this timeless craft.
- 'Plumbing Skills in Action': Learn how to fix and level a radiator using real tools of the trade (don’t try this at home—yet!).
- 'Lay a Decorative Block Paving Path': Get a feel for the precision and skill involved in paving.
- 'Carpentry & Joinery Masterclass': Use professional tools to create classic joinery joints like a pro.

Esports will provide an opportunity to take part in the wider aspects of esports including analysis and game refinement. There will also be the opportunity to take part in a mini tournament at the end of the day, utilising the skills learnt through the day.

This is your chance to work collaboratively and showcase your talents in a fun and supportive environment.

Interested in the animal Industry? We are offering the chance to have a behind-the-scenes tour of the animal facilities at Puxton Park and an introduction to some of the animal content. You will look closely at specific animal behaviour, and you will also have a range of animals to handle.
Wednesday 19th of February
10 am- 2.30 pm

Bring a packed lunch and water bottle, sensible clothes for the weather and filled-in shoes/trainers.
Morning Session: Fabrication - Making a unique sheet metal bookmark from aluminium.
Afternoon Session 2: Hydrogen Cars - Learning about and building a hydrogen car system
Please come dressed in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Steel-toe cap boots or sturdy footwear are essential - no trainers allowed. Don't forget to bring lunch, drinks, and a pencil!
Thursday, 20th February
9.30 am - 3 pm
South West Skills Campus Locking Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS22 8NL
During these sessions, students will be able to have a go and get hands-on experience with real engines and vehicles in one of our amazing workshops. Chat with staff and current learners to find out all you need to know about being a student with us in the future.
