Leadership Series: Improving Workplace Culture within Health and Social Care
16 March 2023 10:00 – 16:00
The Bristol Training Institute - 12 Colston Avenue, Bristol City Centre, BS1 4ST
Mik Alban has worked in social care for over 25 years. He started as a Support Worker before working in a number of operational management positions. For the last 15 years he has been working as a Development Director for both a medium sized provider of services in Wiltshire and for the local Care Association (Care and Support West) which covers Bristol, B&NES, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
This dual role gives him ongoing and first hand experience of the requirements placed on an individual provider and the challenges they face, as well as a broader appreciation of the issues facing the sector. In his roles he is responsible for meeting regulatory requirements, shaping workplace culture, running Registered Managers Networks, developing management training resources and creating sector focused reports.
He will draw on all these experiences in the development and delivery of this workshop.
We are offering an interactive workshop to explore the fundamental role of workplace culture in shaping the service(s) you provide.
The session will look at different types of workplace culture and the influence these have. We will look at how to establish your expectations and how to bring people on board.
This will be a practical session and will provide the opportunity to explore some of the challenges you can actually face and how you might use route cause analysis and performance management techniques to address these.
The session is grounded in the reality of current social care provision, will consider different service types and is designed to provide a working framework for any manager working in social care whose role it is to shape and ensure workplace culture.
Lunch will be provided.
Due to the high demand of this workshop, please may we ask that only two individuals from each business attend.
