Multiply your Skills

Multiply – a new government funded scheme – is aimed at helping adults to improve their numeracy, and develop skills for life. If you’re 19+ and have not yet got your GCSE maths at grade C or above, you can access this course for FREE!

Numeracy skills are beneficial for both career-based and everyday life activities, including:

  • Managing your money, banking and bills
  • Supporting children with school work
  • Using maths in real situations
  • Maths for learners of English as a second language (ESOL)

Particularly in the current Cost of Living Crisis, this scheme can reduce stress by teaching how to better manage your money, understand financial documents, interest rates and loans, shop competitively for food and bills, and use your energy efficiently.

This programme will run for 8 weeks over various locations in Worle, Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon.

On completion of this programme, you’ll be able to progress onto Functional Skills and gain your Level 1 or 2 Maths qualification.

Multiply Programme is funded and managed by the West of England Combined Authority, led by Metro Mayor Dan Norris, and delivered by Weston College.

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
