Career Excellence Hub Employer of the Year Shortlist
Last year we launched our Career Excellence Hubs (CEH), which connects industry and education with a closer alignment than ever before. Across our fourteen Career Excellence Hubs are employer endorsers, who play a key role in supporting our learners by:
- Co-designing training provision
- Creating an inspirational learning experience
- Providing the skills training required for your business and wider industry
- Delivering a talented workforce so your business and industry will thrive.
Each of the employers we work with are doing a fantastic job, and picking a top three was very difficult, but here is our shortlist for this year’s Business Awards:
Abatec Recruitment
Abatec Recruitment have played a crucial role in developing our learners this year – and have supported students across many different subject areas (including construction, business, art and design).
Some opportunities they have offered over the last 12 months, include:
Creative Arts students designing, and creating a mural for the Abatec offices. This gave the learners real life experience of working with a client, their designs are now on display within the Abatec office.
Delivered guest lectures to Sixth Form learners, as well as setting a project for the students to create a marketing plan to overhaul their website/social media platforms.
Provided photography students with a project to capture professional photos of all the staff.
By providing these real-life briefs and experience of working with a client, learners have gained valuable experience, and this is the ethos of our Career Excellence Hubs.
Liberation Group
The Liberation Group have been a huge support to the catering and hospitality faculty over the past year, and have enriched the learners experience.
They have attended multiple events, which has given learners and potential learners a real insight into the industry. They have supported our CEH progress by offering brilliant masterclasses regularly and working with our students to offer recruitment post learning.
The Liberation Group have also invited learners to their local pubs to experience the real working environment, which has not only assisted in the development of our learners, but has also given them the hunger and drive to pursue their career in hospitality.
The team at the Liberation Group are extremely supportive, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
Thatchers Cider
Thatchers Cider have supported Weston College for many years, and are now one of our Career Excellence Hub partners.
The partnership between Weston College and Thatchers Cider has been really successful, as both work closely together to achieve aligned values, ambitions and careers excellence.
As a Career Excellence Hub partner, Thatchers Cider are involved in our curriculum, and also deliver guest talks to our students. They play an important role in the development of our learners and this is down to their importance of doing the right thing for learners and putting them at the centre of what they do.
