Culture Weston
Culture Weston is a new partnership-led initiative that places culture at the heart of Weston-super-Mare’s daily life and future growth. It is led by North Somerset arts organisation Theatre Orchard, in collaboration with the local community and funded by Arts Council England.
Culture Weston have consistently provided enriching and motivating industry placement and work experience opportunities for all learners within Creative Arts at Weston College. They have allowed us to collaborate with them on exciting projects that have allowed us to benefit the community such as Glow Festival and the 21s Century Super Shrine on the high street. They have made a huge difference for our Level 3 Art programme and its quality over the past 2 years.
Weston College learners have been welcomed with open arms on different occasions to work with the innovative professionals in Culture Weston. From the Super Shrine to Glow, our learners have contributed and been treated with respect and as equals by all the workforce at Culture Weston.
Hydrock Consultants
Hydrock Consultants are a leading integrated engineering design, energy, and sustainability consultancy. They bring sustainable solutions to major infrastructure projects and landmark buildings across the UK.
Hydrock Consultants engage with Weston College through STEM activities and career sessions. They offer work experience, work placement, T-level and apprenticeship opportunities help to give young people an insight into the industry.
Typically, STEM careers lack diversity so they are conscious to offer these opportunities to those who would not ordinarily consider STEM (gender and ethnic minorities, those with disabilities and from low-socioeconomic backgrounds).
Hinkley Point C

The Hinkley Point C project, and in particular the Education & Skills Team, work side by side with Weston College to facilitate clear career pathways for the College’ students, offering a range of opportunities including T-Level placements and apprenticeships.
