Creative Arts Summer Festival
Weston College’s very own Creative Arts Department held the most amazing Summer Festival. The celebration of Art & Design, Fashion, Creative & Digital Media, Graphic Design, Photography and music learners took place in June at our Loxton Campus – with activities and shows for all the family to enjoy! The festival-style event showcased an array of awe-inspiring work. From a full art exhibition, filled with works by creative arts learners of all levels, to live performances from our incredible music learners – the festival was truly an event to behold!
Business Awards 2023
The event brought together 250 distinguished guests for an inspiring celebration of learners and local employers who have worked closely with the college to offer work-placed opportunities to people taking their first steps in their career. The Winter Gardens was transformed into a hub of excitement and anticipation as attendees, including prominent figures from the local business community, educators, and local dignitaries, gathered to honour the outstanding achievements and commitment of individuals and businesses alike.
What Next? Careers Showcase for Years 10 & 11
This years’ What Next? Careers Showcase we welcomed over 350 enthusiastic Key Stage Four school learners and their guests. This dynamic event provided a unique platform for school leavers to explore a multitude of exciting career opportunities, with participation from more than 50 local and national employers including Wessex Water, Ministry of Defence, Ashton Gate Stadium, Boeing, Jet2, and Thatchers Cider!
James Shakespeare, Founder of EVO Agency commented: “There were so many people the queue went out of the door, and down the road! We’ve been exhibiting at these fairs for years and this was the busiest one we’ve seen. We hope to have inspired young people that a career in tech and digital has so much more to offer than ‘just coding’, and that there are alternative training routes, such as apprenticeships, available with further education providers such as Weston College.”
