6 hours a week off the job training
6 hours a week off the job training provides time for your Apprentice to develop the required skills, knowledge and behaviours to achieve their Apprenticeship standard. It is a mandatory element of the programme which must take place within the Apprentices working hours. The training activities can take many different forms (see examples below) and can also take place in a number of locations including at the workplace, off-site (e.g. classroom) or from home (e.g. distance learning).
Please note that it is the responsibility of your Apprentice to record a minimum of 6 hours a week off the job training in their ‘Time log’ on Smart Assessor. The Apprentice will not be eligible to pass their Gateway and progress onto EPA without the completion and evidence of this training.
