Below we have put together some helpful tips so you can prepare and know what to expect.

First of all, it’s remote; so we can see each other, we will be using Microsoft Teams as our platform. You’ll be sent an invite to a Microsoft Teams appointment to your personal email address. Weston College is all about ‘Creating Brighter Futures’ and we encourage all our learners to be independent, resilient and ultimately to believe in themselves to achieve their personal and career goals.

Your passion for the subject area you are applying for – what inspired you to apply?
A positive attitude, which will show us you are willing to work hard, attend all classes and behave well. All of which are key to you reaching your potential.
That you have thought about your application choice(s) and that they are appropriate for your career goals.

Our curriculum staff will be able to inform you straight away whether they will be offering you a place on one of our college programmes.

First of all, well done!

- Your offer of a place will be subject to you achieving the required examination results (these will be explained at your interview and can be found on our website)
- We expect you to continue to work hard, maintain a high attendance record and meet all deadlines set by your school teachers
- We will email you confirming your offer of a place. You can then log-on to your college account and accept your offer.

In a small number of cases, we sometimes feel that a different programme of study might be more suited to your attainment levels or career aspirations. If this is the case, you will be referred to our School Liaison Team who will contact you and will take you through all the options and find a suitable programme for you.

WELL DONE AND GOOD LUCK!

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
