Being Home Educated I wasn’t sure how easy It would be for me to go to further education or even if Colleges would accept me.
I was torn between two completely different courses, one being Hospitality and the other being Public Services. After going to the open evenings at Weston College, looking around and meeting the staff I decided that I wanted to do Public Services. Weston College from the start accepted me, offered me any additional support I needed and guidance on my course. From my Public Service level 2 course all the way up to completing my degree at UCW, Weston College was there for me at every step. From that point on I went on to work in youth and community-based projects around North Somerset. Working with young people and their families at youth clubs and community events has been an amazing experience. I am thankful that I can continue that in my school liaison role and make a difference in my local community.
