Tracie
Tracie started with us on the Changes for Life programme in 2019 having been out of education for several years, after leaving school with limited qualifications. Over the past three years Tracie has progressed from Changes for Life on to several personal development courses and then on to Functional Skills in English and Maths.
She has also been volunteering in a variety of community situations including at the North Somerset Training Hub and with North Somerset Community Learning. In her volunteering, both in the community and at Weston College, Tracie has taken on a mentoring role, using her own personal experiences to help others who may be experiencing similar circumstances.
She has found a passion for both learning and for arts and crafts, and is confidently incorporating this into her voluntary roles. She acts as a positive role model and spokesperson for the Changes for Life course as well as other community-based courses, and most recently helping with the community delivery of the Multiply programme.
Since starting at the college, Tracie's personal journey has been one of significant growth, overcoming many challenges to discover a love of learning and to truly changing her life.
