Engineering Apprentice at The Bristol Port Company

Here at the Bristol Port Company every day is different, we have 3 Engineering sections, Power systems, Operational Engineers and Lock gate Engineers. Each department is vastly different and during your apprenticeship you will spend a set amount of time within each department getting to know what each section does.
Daily duties to include:
- Carrying out fault finding and repairs to motors electrical and mechanical
- Carrying out daily PPM's (Pre Planned Maintenance) on all electrical and mechanical equipment
- Helping maintain and clean and tidy workshop and vehicles
- Installing of electrical infrastructure upon request by departmental managers
- Inputting of jobs and task on EAM (Enterprise asset management system)

Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
There are two positions available for each of the following pathways:
- Mechanical Engineer
- Electrical Engineer
If you are successful in your application your first year will be split between 3 days at college and 2 days on site, the first year requires you to undertake a level 2 general engineering qualification, in year 2 you will then undertake your chosen pathway (Mechanical or Electrical) where you will attend college 1 day a week.
