Start your journey into working at schools!

On this two-week course you will gain four qualifications that when added to your CV will show future employers that you are keen to work in an education setting. Protecting the children that you work with and understanding your responsibilities as adults and employees is vital in today’s world.

You don’t need any existing qualifications, just a desire to support students.

What will I study?

On this course you will gain the knowledge and skills to support learners in a range of circumstances.

You will gain four qualifications:

  • NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools
  • NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings

  • Gateway Qualification Entry 3 Level Award in Prevent Awareness

The Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools qualification looks at schools as an organisation and the wide variety of schools across the country. We look at child development from birth to age 18 and how to adapt the way we communicate with young children, teenagers and adults. The course looks at how to keep children healthy and look after their physical and mental well-being as well as safeguarding measures.

The Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings qualification is intended specifically for those working in the education sector, it gives you the knowledge and understanding of a school’s legal responsibility to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and learners. Most importantly, by the end of the course you will know exactly how to respond to any concerns you might have that a child is at risk of being harmed.

The Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness qualification aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health difficulties. It dispels some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health.
