Level 1
Self-Compassion, CPD Workshop
This CPD workshop is designed for people aged over 19 years and explores self-compassion within counselling.
Self-compassion is the ability to turn understanding, acceptance and love inward. Many people can extend compassion toward others but find it difficult to extend the same compassion toward themselves. Some see self-compassion as an act of self-indulgence but extending compassion toward oneself is not an act of selfishness or self-pity. In fact, self-compassion can help relieve many mental health concerns such as anxiety or insecurity. Many mental health professionals help people develop compassion for themselves.
This workshop will help enhance your career and counselling practice and is designed for those working in counselling or wanting to gain a greater understanding of self-compassion.
Subjects covered:
- An understanding of what self-compassion means
- The importance of compassion
- Self-care
- Exploring ways of using triads as a counsellor in this area
