You will spend 4 days a week with an employer and spend one day a week at college to learn the theoretical elements of the role.

The skills you will be taught will include applying correct measures to resolving and extinguish fires, using specialist equipment including respiratory in hazardous environments, operating specialist information, and technology systems. You will also learn to maintain your physical and mental wellbeing, while working at height, and in or around water.

Assessment Method

Apprentices will need to achieve the core skills and knowledge, behaviours contained within the apprenticeship standard and will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, together with an end-point assessment (EPA), which consists of a knowledge test, a practical observation and a professional discussion.
