Creative and Digital Media
Coralie had a passion for design from a young age. After leaving school she chose to study the Level 3 Graphic Design course at Weston College alongside a Photography A Level, and then continued her studies with a Graphic Design degree at Falmouth University of Arts. Following graduation, Coralie worked as a graphic designer in London and Bristol, before completing her teaching degree and joining the FE team at Creative Arts Weston. Coralie now has over 10 years’ experience teaching at FE level and is currently the coordinator and year 2 tutor of the Level 3 Graphic Design course.
Coralie owns her own photographic studio and offers marketing and brand visibility work to independent and commercial businesses. She also owns a clothing and design company, which has won five international awards for the last four years running. Coralie believes that staying active in the creative industries helps her teaching and strengthens the students’ creative experiences. She loves learning new things and feels that a career in the design industry provides the best platform for people to spread their wings.
Coralie finds it both fascinating and rewarding to see students transform into creative practitioners during their time at Weston College, and she has plenty of inspiring advice for learners:
‘Find out what motivates you to create and then submerse yourself in it. Be open to learn new things. Experiment. Have a good attitude. Be inspired by books, magazines and blogs; practice your specialist skills. Have confidence in yourself. Most importantly, enjoy what you do, have fun along the way and never give up!’
