Floristry, Certificate

Entry Requirements

You must have an interest in the floristry industry and to be able to work creatively. Please be advised that there are written aspects of the course which are mandatory and require independent study for. You are also advised to have a high level of English due to content of the course. There are no formal requirements for Maths.

Additional Information

Requirements will be discussed weekly. This will include items such as foliage and flowers, these can be at a budget level. You are required to bring an apron and scissors each week.

Progression Opportunities

A certificate in Floristry could help you to get a job as:

  • An Assistant Florist
  • A Wedding Flower Arranger
  • A Funeral Home Flower Arranger
  • A Flower Shop Supervisor/Manager.

ESOL Learners Take Part in Loves Cafe Hospitality Course

Two of our ESOL learners, Romina and Glenn, have been taking part in a weekly Hospitality Course at Loves Cafe. This fantastic initiative, a collaboration between the community and North Somerset Council, aims to support refugees and asylum seekers by equipping them with essential skills to help them gain employment in the hospitality sector.

Hayden demonstrated exceptional dedication, completing over 150 hours of work experience at The Maple in Cleeve while refining his skills and building strong relationships. 

He excelled in coursework and practical training, catering at major festivals like Download and assisting with college events. Now a Chef de Partie, he mentors new students and continues to embrace growth opportunities in the industry.
