MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST (MOS) and MOS EXPERT

A Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is an internationally recognised qualification. Participants completing courses will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of working with Office applications, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

These courses are intended to upskill existing competencies through a recognised online learning platform. The aim is to provide employees with not only the knowledge to effectively utilise these applications but also provide greater business value by increased productivity and integration.

To further enhance the employee skill-base within Microsoft Word and Excel, on completion of the Specialist Level courses, progression will be offered onto the MOS Expert Level suite of courses in these applications. Online development of basic digital knowledge and skills to support employees working in business environments where staff are increasingly reliant on digital communication and business practices. These courses will provide employees with skills from entry-level and provide stepping-stone progression to higher-level proficiency.

AZURE FUNDAMENTALS

Microsoft is recognised world-wide as a leading provider of both Office applications and Cloud-based platforms. As businesses look to leverage these platforms for market advantage, the development of staff skills is a critical component of this strategy. To support this, Weston College in partnership with Microsoft now provide a suite of leading Microsoft qualifications.

AZURE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FUNDAMENTALS

As an emerging technology AI is recognised as one of the top ten core skills in industrial digitalisation.

This course introduces AI and the Microsoft services to employees with an opportunity to demonstrate fundamental skills in the creation of AI solutions. This course is remote and can be supported by tutor-led.

POWER PLATFORM FUNDAMENTALS

Automating basic business processes and creating Key Performance Indicators utilising dashboard visualisations is becoming increasingly adopted within industry to monitor and improve all aspects of the organisations.

UNDERSTANDING CODING CERTIFICATE

This qualification will support employees to gain recognition in the practices of code development, focusing on associated methodologies and industry practices of code development.

PRINCIPLES OF CYBER SECURITY CERTIFICATE

The importance of effective cyber security practices within businesses is acknowledged as fundamental requirement. The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Cyber Security is to provide employees with awareness of current principles, roles and responsibilities to support the existing policies within businesses.

The secondary purpose is to act as a stepping-stone that will lead learners into studying Cyber Security at a higher level.

DATA ANALYSIS CERTIFICATE

EUROPEAN COMPUTER DRIVING LICENSE (ECDL) ESSENTIALS

To support employees in gaining an understanding of essential IT skills, the adoption of the internationally recognized European Computer Driving License Essentials (ECDL) is a great introduction to IT. Employees will be introduced to the uses of basic computer technology, the internet and will be able to email safely following completion of this course. This is a face to face course.

EUROPEAN COMPUTER DRIVING LICENSE (ECDL) EXTRA

As a progression from the Level 1 ECDL course, employees will gain confidence, knowledge and understanding of the three main Microsoft applications required in the workplace - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a contextualised industry-based scenario project activity.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN

Within an organisation it is anticipated that a Software Development Technician typically works as part of a software development team, to build simple software components to be used by other members of the team as part of larger software development projects.

This course will provide participants with the ability to interpret simple design requirements for discrete components of a project under supervision.

DIGITAL AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS BSC HONS DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP

As data becomes pervasive across all industry sectors and business practices, the role of a data analyst is to collect, organise and study data to provide new business insight. This course will provide participants with the skills to address the need for up-to-date, accurate and relevant data analysis for the organisation.

Employees will typically become involved with managing, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data across the network infrastructure.

The results of data analysis activities support recommendations to improve business performance. Participants will gain a broad grounding in technology solutions to be effective in their role.

CYBER SECURITY TECHNICIAN

This course will provide first-line skills in cyber security support. It requires individuals to monitor and detect potential security threats and escalate as necessary, and to support secure and uninterrupted business operations.

CYBER SECURITY TECHNOLOGIST

The primary role of a Cyber Security Technologist is to support organisations with an understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls, measures and mitigations to protect organisations systems and people.

This course will focus on two key elements: firstly, the technical side, work on areas such as security design & architecture, security testing, investigations & response. Secondly, a focus on the risk analysis relating to areas such as operations, risk, governance & compliance.

Studied as part of the Digital and Technology Solutions BSc Hons Degree Apprenticeship - within businesses, the critical role of a cyber security analyst is to be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of the security controls that protect an organisation’s systems and data assets from threats and hazards.

This course is developed to provide an understanding of the security technologies and practices that are operating in accordance with organisations’ policies and standards to provide continued protection.

BUSINESS ANALYST
