Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship at BAKER HUGHES LIMITED
- Learn to perform assembly, wire, test & inspections of BH hydromechanical & electrical / electronic products, in accordance with technical drawings.
- Display Competence working across both mechanical and electrical disciplines - support provided to those with a bias towards one and willing to cross-train.
- You will follow all established manufacturing procedures and processes to ensure quality through consistent, reliable, repeatable work processing.
- Work from engineering drawings, following formal procedures, ensuring quality end products for our customers.
- Learn to fault find erroneous product down to module / sub-assembly level.
- Become competent in the use of test equipment(s) including, but not limited to, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, pressure sensors, and a range of simulators, leading to the ability to set up and test product systems.
- Lean to understand and create test software, download and use firmware, and Industrial software packages.
- Become competent in high voltage testing, pressure system testing, plus hydraulic system flushing.
- Become competent in the use of business IT/M systems, which include Engineering Documentation packages, Quality and HSE systems.

- Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Pathway
- Year 1 - full time college attendance learning engineering hand skills and working toward Engineering BTEC.
- Year 2, 3 and 4 - in the workplace.
- Departmental rotations, including: assembly, wiring, inspection and testing.
- Many apprentices go on to join the engineering teams carrying out Level 4 HNC apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships.
