Level 3
Team Leading/Supervisor, Apprenticeship
This apprenticeship is an opportunity to step into a pivotal role within an organisation, where your leadership skills will shape the success of both individuals and teams. As a team leader or supervisor in a first-line management role, you will be entrusted with guiding, motivating, and inspiring your colleagues to reach their full potential while ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations.
This apprenticeship will equip you with the knowledge, tools, and experiences needed to effectively manage projects, communicate effectively, and make informed decisions.
An apprenticeship is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in business. It provides a unique opportunity to acquire industry-specific qualifications and valuable hands-on experience while earning a salary. You’ll have the chance to work closely with experienced industry professionals, meaning you’ll gain practical skills that make you highly employable and give you a head start in your career.
When you study with us you will automatically join our Business Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme. Through guest lectures, company visits, work experience and recruitment events, you will have unrivalled access to potential employers – that means invaluable industry insight and numerous networking opportunities. You’ll study in purpose-built classrooms, designed to enhance your learning experience, and you’ll benefit from a wide range of facilities including our new boardroom and business suite. Your mentors will be experienced tutors and assessors who have worked in reputable firms and run their own businesses. They will guide you through your study programme and placement, and ensure you’re fully prepared for your next steps after college.
WHAT DOES THIS COURSE INVOLVE
You will acquire the skills and knowledge required to provide direction, instructions, and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role. This apprenticeship is expected to last up to 18 months but can be less depending on ability and previous skills and knowledge.
ASSESSMENT METHOD
We’ll assess your practical skills and workplace performance. Your personal assessor will also visit you at work to review your progress towards the qualifications. The end-point assessment will consist of three elements – apprentice showcase, practical observation, and professional discussion.
All assessments need to be passed and each will directly assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship standard.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
On completion, apprentices may choose to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support their professional career development. Progression to higher level apprenticeships is available in Associate Project Management at Level 4 and Operational/Departmental Manager at Level 5.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
People applying for this role will need to be in a job role that has responsibility for people and projects but without the necessary experience to undertake the role straight away. Applicants will typically have already achieved English and maths at GCSE grade C or equivalent and should hold a Level 2 business related qualification or have at least two years’ experience in a business environment.
