As you embark on this extended diploma programme, you will delve deep into the intricate workings of the travel and tourism industry, gaining invaluable knowledge about travel planning, hospitality, event management, and sustainable tourism practices.
Through a blend of immersive learning experiences and practical training, you will acquire the skills and expertise needed to excel in a range of roles within this field. You will develop research, creative, problem-solving, teamwork and interpersonal skills, and increase your industry knowledge by visiting various destinations in the UK and possibly overseas.
Local travel agencies have contributed to designing the programme and will set you a number of challenges to increase your work-related skills. You will also gain valuable work experience skills for future employment.

WHAT DOES THIS COURSE INVOLVE
This Level 3 is equivalent to 3 A Levels and allows you to study the industry in depth. You will learn about global destinations, current industry issues, and business and marketing in the tourism, cruise, event, and conference industries.
As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
ASSESSMENT METHOD
You will be assessed through practical activities, group work, presentations, coursework and online assessments.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
This programme will provide the skills you need to carry out a range of roles in the travel and tourism industry. Or you could increase your skills and earning potential by progressing to the BA (Hons) in Business Management and Sustainability at University Centre Weston.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including maths and English at grade 4 or a Level 2 programme at merit or distinction.
