Further Mathematics, A Level
This course aims to consolidate the information and knowledge from your standard A Level Maths to help you receive the best possible grade. It will also act as a perfect stepping stone to maths at degree level. In the first year of your programme, you will study A Level Maths before progressing to Further Maths in the second.

In the first year of your course, you'll have the opportunity to follow a pathway that aligns with your career aspirations. Choose from options such as maths or young enterprise, which will provide you with additional skills and experiences to enhance your career prospects.
Our dedicated Tutor Learning Mentors will help you develop effective study skills and prepare for exams. Whether you're pursuing higher education or seeking employment opportunities, we'll provide support for university applications or interviews.
WHAT DOES THIS COURSE INVOLVE
In this course, you will explore various branches of mathematics, including algebra, calculus, statistics, and mechanics. Through rigorous study and practice, you will develop a deep understanding of mathematical principles and their practical applications. You will learn to tackle complex problems, analyse data, and make informed decisions using mathematical models and reasoning. You will also study compulsory content in statistics and mechanics, which will enable you to apply the pure maths in contextualised settings.
In your second year, you will study modules in further pure mathematics, and two of the following three areas: mechanics, decision maths, and statistics. Where appropriate, you will also receive support with entrance papers (such as STEP and MAT) in your second year.

ASSESSMENT METHOD
You will sit exams in your second year after completion of the Fast-track Maths A-level in year one of your programme of study.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
You could apply to study a range of subjects at degree level including physics, engineering, computing and maths.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English, and grade 8 or above in maths.
