Service Sectors - Hospitality Traineeship
This traineeship is perfect if you wish to gain a head start in the hospitality and catering industry, but want to develop your skills in the area, as well as building your English and maths first. It will also allow you the time to gain an employer to progress onto the level 2 apprenticeship.
This course is also perfect for those who may need a little longer to study at Level 2, or who need more development in maths and English to progress to Level 3.
As a Weston College student you will become part of our exciting new Career Excellence Hub in Hospitality and Catering. This means you will take part in a study programme with lots of career boosting benefits, all with the aim of giving you the opportunity to become career ready!
What does the course involve?
You will attend College two days a week to study English, maths, employment rights and responsibilities and work towards the Level 2 qualification. You will also undertake a traineeship placement two days per week.
How will the course be assessed?
We’ll assess your English, maths, practical skills, projects and placement performance in college and in your workplace.
Are there any additional costs?
You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform which will be available on the college shop.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
When you are able to secure an apprenticeship employer, the work you do on the traineeship will be carried over to your apprenticeship qualification. This makes it an excellent preparation. You could also progress to a full time Level 2 or Level 3 programme - your tutor can advise.
