Live Events Technician, Apprenticeship

This course is ideal if you have a passion for working in live theatre and events. Whether you are interested in set and prop design, lighting and sound, stage management, event management, or leading the way in digital theatre, this innovative course will provide you with a broad and extensive skill set.
You will gain an understanding of theatre production through a mixture of practical sessions and theory-based assignments. The course reflects changes in the industry and will ensure you are prepared for the future of live theatre and events.
You will have access to specialist studios, equipped with a range of high-quality technical equipment, and you will develop and advance your skills using industry-standard lighting and sound equipment.
Throughout the course you will develop your creative network and gain valuable experience of working within the industry. Working within the industry will help you stand out from the competition and can open diverse doors for you in your future career.
You will learn from professional artists and technicians with extensive experience in the industry, and college staff will fully support you in developing confidence, interpersonal skills, and good working practices, all of which will improve your employability. When you are ready, you will undertake your independent end-point assessment, which will assess the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for this role.

Entry Requirements
For the level 3 diploma a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and maths or a qualifying level 2 qualification. You will also be asked to attend an interview. To progress onto the extended diploma students will need to successfully complete the level 3 diploma course at a merit grade.
