As an Electrical Installer, you will get to install, test and commission the maintenance of low voltage electrical devices and appliances. This course is appropriate for learners of all levels looking to study Electrical Installation.
This course is for school leavers (16-19s), and is part of our Career Excellence Hubs, which brings you closer to industry than ever before. You will hear from people within the industry, who will equip you with the latest skills, to enhance your future career opportunities.
What does this course involve?
You will learn about electrical installation, responsibilities and procedures, safe working practices, environmental protection measures and scientific principles. You will learn practical skills in our workshops, which will be supplemented with tutorial support, employability sessions, personal development, and study skills.
You will be taught by our expert lecturers, who all have experience working in the electrical industry. We will also work with you to develop your English and maths skills to the level you will need to become an electrician.
How will the course be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical observations, written assignments and an online portfolio.

What future study opportunities and careers are there?
After the Electrical Installation Diploma, you will be qualified for a number of jobs in the electrical and maintenance industries. You may also decide to open up your own electrician business. If you want to increase your skills, you could progress to the HNC in Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) at University Centre Weston (UCW).
