Construction
Level 1
Pathway to Construction 16-18 (CSCS)
Are you aged 16–19 and ready to take your first step towards working in the construction industry? This course is designed to help young learners prepare for and successfully pass the CSCS Test, a key requirement for gaining a CSCS Green Card (for labourers).
Who Is This Course For?
This course is ideal for learners aged 16–19 who are interested in starting a career in construction but don’t yet have the qualifications or experience to get started.
What Will I Study?
This course focuses on preparing you to take and pass the CSCS Test. Topics covered include:
-
Health and safety regulations on construction sites.
-
Identifying risks and hazards in the workplace.
-
Best practices for working safely in a construction environment.
Why Choose This Course?
This course provides the preparation needed to pass the CSCS Test. If you are 18 or older, you will also need to complete your Health and Safety Awareness qualification to apply for a CSCS Green Card. While this qualification is not included in this course, we can provide guidance on completing it separately.
For learners under 18, this course serves as a valuable foundation for future employment or apprenticeships, which allow you to work on-site at 16+ as part of a structured training programme.
Progression Opportunities
Once you’ve completed the course and passed your CSCS Test, you’ll be equipped to:
-
Apply for entry-level roles as a labourer on construction sites (18+ with a Green Card).
-
Begin an apprenticeship at 16+ or prepare for further training in trades such as brickwork, carpentry, or scaffolding to advance your career.
Additional Support
We provide career advice, guidance, and ongoing support to help you take the next step in your construction career.
