Health and Social Care, Extended Diploma
What will I do on this course?
This Level 2 Health and Social Care course will give you the knowledge and experience to start making informed choices about future career paths in the sector. You’ll learn about human growth and development, safeguarding and protection, equality and diversity in practice, mental health and wellbeing, and social care values.
You’ll attend work placements in a diverse range of settings and get first-hand experience of the professional roles that provide care.
As part of this study programme you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID) or Future Academy. You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through coursework, including projects, assignments and presentations, and practical work.
What could I do after this course?
The course will help you understand the range of jobs available and choose which you’re most suited to. You could also progress to a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or an apprenticeship with Weston College.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2, which must include English and maths at grade 4, or a qualifying Level 1 qualification.
