Level 2
This course is ideal if you have a passion for working on the stage. It will give you the skills and knowledge needed to pursue further studies and a performing arts career. The course has a strong emphasis on practical work so you will experience all aspects of performance and develop skills in acting, dancing, voice, singing, physical theatre and devising. You will have the opportunity to explore and test your creativity in our professionally equipped studios and light-filled performance spaces, complete with full sound equipment and sprung floors. You will be taught by professionals with extensive experience in the industry, and your lecturers will fully support you in developing confidence, interpersonal skills, and good working practices, all of which will improve your employability.
As part of our collaborative community, you will devise powerful and engaging pieces of work and then deliver dynamic performances, here in our purpose-built spaces, and in local theatres. You will also be given the opportunity to take residential trips to London and New York, to experience inspirational workshops and performances in the West End and on Broadway.
You’ll become part of our Creative Arts Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading industry partners, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme. This provides unrivalled access to potential employers and the opportunity to develop your creative network. You will benefit from theatre trips, work experience opportunities and masterclasses from renowned performers.
As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete an extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview. ASSESSMENT METHOD
You will be assessed through several projects throughout the year. For your final assessment you have the option to audition and perform for a full-scale production. Past productions have included:

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a Level 3 (diploma/extended diploma) course in one of the relevant pathways.
Students can work towards a range of entry level creative roles such as performing, directing, choreographing, teaching, script writing, producing, designing, or working in arts management and administration.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2 with at least two at grade 4, or a qualifying level 1 qualification and a successful audition/interview.
